The MAST URI®SYSTEM is a semi-automated system for the direct culture, identification and antibiotic sensitivity testing (AST) of urine pathogens. The workflow is optimised with the direct inoculation of media, image analysis and intelligent software to allow reporting of ~95% of results at 24 hours. The MAST URI®SYSTEM supports the PHE Antibiotic Stewardship Strategy by providing clinicians with faster antibiotic sensitivity results so that patients receive the most appropriate antibiotic when required and avoid unnecessary treatment.
