Mast Launches Innovative MAST® FIT Aid to Empower Visually Impaired Patients

Today marks the launch of the MAST® FIT aid, a transformative tool designed to empower blind and partially sighted patients by assisting the completion of their Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) with autonomy and dignity.  This pioneering aid offers an inclusive solution for patients, and overcomes visual and physical challenges when offered a FIT test, by their Doctor or GP through the NICE symptomatic testing pathway.

The MAST® FIT aid (patented GB2616828) features a secure bottle stand for effortless accessibility, a central channel for reliable, ambidextrous bottle closure and functional tactile elements including a raised orientation marker and QR code outline guiding the user to comprehensive online resources.  Additionally, the FIT aid displays RNIB-approved uncontracted Braille and comes with accessible printed instructions featuring large text and high-contrast images.

This innovation underscores a significant stride toward reducing healthcare disparities, ensuring that every patient, regardless of visual or physical abilities, can participate in FIT testing confidently and independently. The MAST® FIT aid not only facilitates a simple and efficient FIT testing, but also reinforces the values of inclusivity in healthcare.
