World Antimicrobial Awareness Week: 18 - 24 November
Will you 'go blue' for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week this week?
The World Health Organisation World Antimicrobial Awareness Week is a global campaign, celebrated annually to improve awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and encourage the best practices with regards to antimicrobial stewardship.
AMR occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time. These changes mean that they no longer respond to medicines, making it harder to treat infections that cause disease. With over 1 million deaths directly attributed to AMR each year, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week aims to draw attention to this urgent issue.
Show your support and 'go blue for AMR' this week.
